A subject close to my heart! I've tested this extensively and you can
only save out from Colorport as a Monaco session if you are using one
of the 8 charts that Monaco is pre-configured to use. Otherwise,
saving as a Monaco session simply doesn't appear as a choice. User-
friendly, right?
I've spent hours with X-Rite tech support and in the end they said all
I could use are the 8 options available in Monaco. No custom charts
period. So I'm intrigued by what Scott says...
Yes. For BA's target's, save in CGATS format and use Bill's
"Extract Monaco LAB" Applescript to convert the CGATS file to a MP
compatible (and much smaller) file. Then use MP's "Import" feature
at the "Read Patches" page.
BA's script works only with 2 RGB charts (729 and 1728). My chart is
CMYK 1617.
I too have run into this limitation. I never could get this
applescript to work with any custom CMYK charts. What gives, Scott?
A big question I have is what is the difference between Bill
Atkinson's it8.7 4 chart and the one generated out of Colorport (which
WILL work with Monaco, I use it all the time)? Are they not the same
1617 patches? Why is Bill's "better"? Or is it just that the patch
order is different from Monaco and you want to use the same exact
chart in Profiler and PM? If that is the case I would suggest using
the one out of Colorport, as PM is way more flexible than Monaco.
