Hi,
First of all, I would like to say that the case is
closed.
The whole story is when I registered the Optix
software
via its dialogue box. It seemed their server was
connected
successfully but it didn't give me the activation
code, even
after waiting for 20-30 mins.
So I cancelled the process and went to Xrite website
and
found that I could register the product there too. So
I tried
but the serial number was rejected with an explanation
that the number had been already used and my package
probably had been opened before. The explanation also
recommended me to send back the product and get
a new one.
So I observed the package and noticed that the plastic
circle seal had a very small trace of peeling.
Actually it's
very tiny, about 1x3 mm. It could be a normal mark.
But I also thought that someone with carefulness could
peel the seal off with a knife and left only that tiny
mark.
So I contacted Chromix with email address
email@hidden, and Xrite at
email@hidden
which appeared after failed registering. But no reply
from them.
So I had to use a set of serial number and activation
code
from those websites and felt bad about the registering
system:
the seal should have been easier to notice if it was
broken
(such as paper seal instead of plastic one); or it
would be
better selling software by downloading it and get the
code
by email after payment, etc, etc. :(
Then, yesterday and today, Xrite and Chromix emailed
me
that they couldn't find my emails sent to them. And
after
some conversation via emails with Xrite. They said
that
actually I had already registered successfully and so
I couldn't
registered it again. And they also gave me the
activation code
of my serial number.
So in short, it seems I registered successfully but
failed
to get the activation code and the seal was not
broken.
That's it. Sorry for posting here but I think I owe
them
some explanation here.
Thank you,
Nipat
