Terry,
I noticed no mention of Eizo's Color Navigator software. Do you
find it
seriously flawed or is ColorEyes simply stronger than Navigator?
Hi Glenn,
Last I checked, which was a long time ago, it wasn't working with
Leopard. When I WAS using their software, I remember it being pretty
decent. I honestly can't remember if it had any validation options
but if it doesn't, that would be reason enough for me to simply
stick with ColorEyes. ColorEyes Display fully supports DDC so
there's no compelling reason to use the EIZO software that I can tell.
Hi Terry & Glenn
The latest version of Color Navigator works great with Leopard and has
both a validation and tracking feature, much like ColorEyes Display
Pro (CEDP).
Just to be contrarian, I have to say that we stopped using CEDP about
8 months ago because it created corrupt profiles too often. We have 15
Eizo CG210s which we validate weekly and profile monthly. About 30% of
the time CEDP would create a corrupt profile that was totally
unusable. Usually a restart and remaking the profile would solve the
problem, but sometimes we would have to try a 3rd or even 4th time to
get a good profile. The profiles it makes are superb, but when you are
trying to do 15 monitors in one evening that failure rate is too high.
This problem plagued us for months and tech support could never come
up with a better solution than "try again". So when the FREE software
that came with our Eizo's was updated to include validation and
tracking, we dumped CEDP. Comparably good results, haven't had a
corrupt profile yet, and you can't beat that price!
Maybe the latest CEDP under Leopard is more stable, I wouldn't know.
My 2 cents!
