Color Experts,

We run our printing press to G7 specifications and use Link-o-lator device
links to match all of our other printing processes to the press (Fuji
proofs, Canon digital press, Canon InkJet, VUTEk, etc.
It all works quite well to keep our color output consistent.
I was recently asked a question that I couldn't answer for sure.

Here it is:

The device link does a nice job of matching our Vutek prints to the press,
BUT, it restricts the gamut of the Vutek inks and we will no doubt dirty up
the clean pastels used by some of our clients.

If we employ 3M inks - this will be exacerbated because the 3M inks have a
wider gamut still than the standard Vutek inks.

Is there any way we can "match" our press - but at the same time not
restrict the gamut? Obviously the "match" would not be accurate in the
really clean colors - but it would be better!

Thanks, Tom
