perhaps a point of clarification is in order.
Strictly speaking the device link profile does not limit the gamut of the Vutek. What happens (whether conventional ICC or dev link profiles are used) is that the profile "asks" the Vutek for the ink combination that will produce colors within the source (press) gamut.
In order to get a match between the devices, this is necessary.
You could use profiles that "ask" the Vutek for cleaner colors, but then they probably won't match the smaller gamut of the press.
That said, you may want to experiment with your Vutek profiles, or Link-o-Lator to create profiles with different ink mixings that still match the source colors. Not all ICC profiles are created equal. Some will create cleaner saturated and highlight colors..
