I tried the simulation mode in my RIP, StudioPrint, I should have
remembered that option. The best match was to use Absolute for the
simulation and Relative for the new printer. The simulation was not
completely to my liking. I have one old proof to compare to my new
output.
I could use some layer adjustments but I was hoping to find a
solution that would actually use the profiles so that it would be a
broader based and hopefully a more accurate solution.
My files are in Adobe RGB.
I do have ColorThink Pro and it makes Device Links, but I never have.
What do you mean by,
if you have a means of implementing it.
Is a Device Link something the RIP must support too?
Thank you,
David

You could create a device link, if you have a means of implementing
it.
You could also simply assign the old profile to image, then convert to
the new printer profile, or use the old profile as the simulation
profile in your Rip (again, if supported). There are work arounds, but
sounds like yet another argument for archiving in a device independent
color space. ;)
