I too have experienced this and I agree with your sentiment here. But beyond that, the questions remain about how one gets this orchestra playing in sync when there is no conductor to sack the recalcitrant soloists.

Mark,
My feeling is that this is not an issue of mandate or resources, but
just of philosophy, of way of working. Color maagement is not a
one-device issue, it's more like a hydraulic system where each part
needs to do its job without leaks. What I keep seeingĀ from year to
year now is systems that work initially, and then fail suddenly
without warning. This gets frustrating.
