I don't know that - that's why I suggested calling LaCie to find out
about using 3rd party calibration and profiling tools.
NEC MultiSync LCD 2690 is being supported by basiccolor display,
but as I know here without hardware-calibration support.
You can get the SV version - is that available in Germany?
NEC's software Spectraview II does hardware-calibration on vary NEC-
monitors, but not for the europeans!
Really? That's wild. Something isn't right. Talk to NEC support. I
find it hard to believe NEC would sell a LUT-available monitor
without actually letting you talk to the LUT with the calibration /
profiling software. Defeats the purpose, really.
I am always calibrating the monitors between 140 cd and 160 cd. It
depends on the specific light-surrounding. If you use light-boxes
with the light-condition D50 it's better to calibrate the monitors
white also for D50. And if the light-box is dimmable, the monitors
brightness must be at least 140 cd while the light-box is set on
the lowest brightness.
Ok Steffen - but what is your final goal, accurate prints, or
accurate on-screen images? To me, 140 cd is way too high, and D50 is
tougher to match to print than D65. Having your monitor match your
light-box is fine, but chances are, you aren't shipping your monitor
to your clients! :)
Others no doubt have ideas here.
