I also got reference samples from a dealer in Hamburg. They printed my
test files with their DC240. They used the same paper, the same RIP and
the same separation and the prints show much less color variations
across the sheet than ours.
If things are much as they were when I was last involved,
the variation across the sheet depends greatly on how the
copier is adjusted. A specially trained copier tech. will
know how to adjust the printing engine to minimize this
issue.
[At the time the Xerox DC12/1250 and Canon 1150 both gave very good
results as a proofing machines, with the edge in quality and
repeatability going to the Canon. I'm not sure what Canon's current single
drum color copier model is, or even if they've dropped the CLC line
and now only have the lower image quality 4 drum Imagerunner "office" line.]
