True, however, one could first convert to Lab, then to the destination
profile to "fool" Photoshop.

For this particular topic, Terry can speak for me. ;) Though I would
agree that if were just talking about raster elements, mere mortals
often won't see tremendous differences between device-link and
traditional ICC conversions, so Louis has a point as well.
