ProPhoto or DonRGB?

  • Thread-topic: ProPhoto or DonRGB?

I'm looking for some feedback on weather to setup our Photoshop working
space to ProPhoto, or DonRGB.

We are an offset printing company, our presses are calibrated to Gracol 7.
We are using the Gracol7 profile for proofing.
Our corporate off sight creative dept. is using a digital camera to capture
images for our catalogs.

Of course, the photographer wants to capture all the colors he possibly can.
He wants to convert from Camera RAW to ProPhoto RGB. I realize that ProPhoto
RGB has a larger gamut than DonRGB, but what are the pros and cons of using
ProPhoto RGB in an offset printing workflow? Would we be better off staying
with DonRGB?

Thanks,
Steve
