Probably because all you have to do is look at the stinking print(s) to see
this!

Another solution in search of a problem.  As Klaus mentioned, the tools and
techniques have been around awhile.

If a print drifts in the forest and no one sees it, who cares?

IF you're a geek (or even someone with an instrument), its pretty dare easy
to measure two prints and evaluate the drift. But if no one sees it, its
hardly a major problem (considering all the other TRUE problems we have out
there in photo land).
