I don't think there's a better approach too, short of getting into custom
made profiles. But even that, IMO, has to be regarded with a good dose of
skepticism for I don't take a custom made profile anymore at face value.
I've been bitten too often.

This is a valid rant, how shrewd can many designer's studio be compared to
many photographers, it's staggering -- you're absolutely right. I'd have
some loooonng story to tell...
