One thing that I've noticed caused many people problems is the wide array of
'display options' you get in the menus of some projectors.
Noticing that my Sony projector looked a bit pink at a photography training
event yesterday, I discovered that some arcane aspect of the settings had
changed (note to self - be careful, when lending projector ;-)
It can take quite a bit of adjustment to get some displays into their 'best'
mode for calibration, and I've found no real help in the often scant
documentation.
I've used EOM and the Beamer before, but I happened to have a Spyder 3 Elite
with me and tried that - worked just fine with the laptop and projector...
Along with the bonus that the group IT director is now sold on colour
management, or at least monitor calibration. Pity I don't sell
hardware/software at all, since I probably could have shifted a box full of
S3P's to him after my unplanned demo :-)
bye for now
