Yes, because the assumption is being made that the inks and the paper remain
a constant in the whole equation. Should those change for any reason, I'd
think it advisable to do colorimetric checks again.

No one is holding a gun up to their heads. This is hype on your part, Henry.
G7's appeal is based on feasibility, results and reliability. And if you
don't want to use it, all you have to do is join the great majority of those
who, just like you, have no fondness for changing their ways.
No need to make up fictional plots and conspiracies hatched by hipsters
filled with spite for the "squares".

We could conceivably choose to live in caves, subsisting off of hunting and
gathering. Nothing wrong with that. Our progenitors did that for millennia,
and it was arguably even far more sustainable than the way we live today.
But we choose to live as we do. We are partial to progress and technological
advancement. And we also live with the consequences that come from our
choices, "good" as well as "bad". Going against that is beyond futile --
it's pointless.
