And the question is: "if the data is sent to it in a high bit depth mode, can the printer process it in a high bit depth mode?" Some have said that Epson's onboard processing is 8 bit. When I've asked Epson engineers they've declined to comment. Would love to hear a definitive answer on this, backed up with documents from both HP and Epson.
