I previously used a 24" Dell 2405FPW and I was VERY happy with it.
Also, I have a friend that bought a very inexpensive Samsung 226CW
and says it has a very wide color gamut. The important distinction
here is the "CW",
which is quite different than their "BW" displays.
I've found that Dell's "wfp" (wide flat panel) series and Samsung's
"T" series are considerably better than the other's from these
manufacturers largely due to their wide angle of wide view. These are
great "best value" displays for the budget conscience. Samsung 's high
end "XL" series is also notable for it's eco-friendly manufacturing,
high bit LUT, etc. Aside from the one's I've just mentioned, I can't
recommend any of the other display series (including the fpw, cw and
bw series) from these manufacturers for those that are doing critical
color work.
