Hi Gang,
Interesting news about the Better Light repro solution.
Perhaps it's my lack of technical understanding, but how does this
differ from current workflows? Typically, we work with known targets,
and dial-in our cameras based on those knowns. Theoretically, the
colours from the artwork will then fall into place, assuming you're
working with a sensor that has a linear response, correct? However,
in my thinking, you always need manual tweaks, cause the reaction to
light of say a pastel is not the same as a Gretag ColorChecker. So
there will be variations - most pronounced in pastels / watercolours
in my experience. I can read the actual pastel colour using the E1
Pro, but you'll still have the variance.
I shoot with Hassey 39MP four-shot backs and broncolor lighting,
dialed to 5K through gels.
Thoughts?
