Thanks for the great answer Steve. You explained it perfectly for both cases. My test images are all Adobe RGB like the files I have my clients use. Fortunately, most of them use Fierys or if they have HP printers, they print through the printer profile and avoid this problem. The two Onyx users I have will have to stick with the No Color Management setting.
Unfortunately, now I have some clients using the HPZ6100 printers and they will have to be aware of this issue. While the color differences between the two color handling selections appear small with the Z6100, I have to recommend the one that is closest to the profiled output of all other profiled printers in the office. On first look "Let Printer Determine Color" with it's stronger black looks closest to the other color managed printers.
If the Let Printer Determine Color Setting is trying to give the Rip more color information about the source, one would assume that to be the most accurate setting. Yet for the Onyx, I get a green cast. No need to "go molecular" and go into the postscript to find the source of the problem for me though. I'm just interested in the best procedure for my clients.

Managed Color
If you select "Printer Manages Colors" Photoshop (and possibly the driver) will insert Postscript color information along with the image data in an attempt to give the RIP more information regarding the source space of the data.
I suspect mis-interpretation of that additional source information is in the RIP rather than the driver or Photoshop.
"No Color Management" removes that data and the RIP is left to its own internal devices to determine/set the source color space and convert accordingly. You may want to look into the behavior of the RIP in regards to the default source space of incoming images.
When you print directly on the RIP or drop TIFF files into a hot folder, the Postscript wrappers are left out, so the problem is eliminated.
HTH
Regards,
Steve
