I haven't seen ISO-12646 and the only mention of it on IDEAlliance.org
is "The ISO 12646 Specification for monitor evaluation was used as a
basis for the program". Thanks for providing me with the numbers you
use, but if those numbers aren't actually on the website where they
"certify" soft-proofing systems, how are people supposed to know what
they are? And you don't mention tolerances, just aimpoints. How far
off from those numbers can I be and still have a "certified monitor
proofing system"?
Yes, anybody can pay $80 to get a copy of ISO-12646 from iso.org, but
should I really have to pay money to find out the aimpoints and
tolerances that IDEAlliane is using to certify systems? Doesn't that
seem like (to quote Klaus) "... obfuscation, misinformation and a
confusing number of "ADS" (Application Data Sheets) for all kinds of
proofing systems."?
