Edmund, please clarify this. I'm having trouble following what you mean here. The DNG sensor and processing model is pretty straightforward, at least for Bayer CFA cameras. You have the original RGB data in camera-native coordinates. You scale the coordinates for white balance, so that your chosen camera neutral becomes a RGB triplet (n, n, n) will all components equal. You then use a matrix to map the white-balanced linear camera coordinates to XYZ D50. That's the colorimetric interpretation. Optional table stages later on can be used to make non-linear corrections.
