Thanks Eric, that makes sense to me. In terms specifically related to Lightroom, for example, whose "internal" working space is roughly ProPhoto, I take this to mean that there are no colour space related issues for profiling if exporting in ProPhoto, but depending on the colour palette of the target, there could be issues exporting in ARGB(98) or sRGB?

As long as colors are not clipped by the choice of output color space, the choice of color space does not matter in the evaluation of the profile performance.
