Hi Harold.
It's good to hear from you.
It seems, from what you write, that the existing tag structure for device
links is not reliable enough to perform the desired function of indicating
exactly which source and destination profiles were used to make the profile
(in those cases in which the DVL is created from 2 "regular" ICC profiles,
be they both in the same color mode or not).
According to what you describe, the ICC seems to have had the right concern
in mind, but didn't implement a reliable, problem-free solution.
It would also be good to know which CMM and RI were used, and to have
markers that tell us if the DVL was created just from measured data.
