I used to believe that, naively, I confess, only the "best" of the "best"
would do for me. If 6 grand was the amount required to get the job done,
using the best display hardware out there, so be it.

But I realize now that I'm certainly guilty of not having paid enough
attention to the terms of the manufacturer's warranty when I could, since
I'll have to either a) pay a hefty sum to replace the backlight in this
worn-out monitor or b) buy another monitor altogether.

Things have changed: I don't have to pay 6 grand again for the best of the
best -- and I won't.
