But that's the problem - there is no supplied reference. Measurements from
various people not associated with X-rite, seems rather a haphazard
way of supplying a product !
Advanced users can always make their own reference files. Try it before you knock
it. Do some exhaustive testing side-by-side with other targets and let us know what you
think.
Many users do not have access to an instrument to measure the chart. The whole
point of buying an expensive input device reference chart is the correspondence
between the physical colors and the reference measurement information. Without
that it's useless - anyone can splash paint on a board and call it a target,
but what does it prove ?
