I would say that stochastic screening effectively eliminates the
possibility of moire from a screening stand point...meaning that there
should be practically no angle conflicts from overlaying separations
as with traditional AM screening. Stochastic screening also goes a
long way in reducing moire that is the result of image patterns (ex.
fabric) conflicting with screening angles, though I wouldn't say that
this is outright impossible or completely eliminated. Print buyers for
the garment industry would do well to look into stochastic/non-
periodic screening, imo.
Another source of moire, and one I see more than any other since the
advent of digital photography, is brought on at image capture. For
example, fabric patterns too closely matched to the camera's ccd
causing interference. Stochastic screening won't help there. ;)
