Hello Greg,
the DreamColor devices are of much potential because of the 30-bit colour
data acceptance and very much welcome. Ookala was reviewed by Hal V. Engel
some months ago. We appreciate much your effort at HP to allow for
working on a standardised way of accessing calibration critical features
in monitor devices. I would be more than happy if the graphic card lookup
tables can be moved to monitor internal LUTs. VCGT, while general useful,
costs at the graphic card level too much precission. Moving such
calibrations in the output device appears to me as a better approach.
best regards

Note that we already have an open source calibration solution on Linux that
might be useful to look at. It is called Ookala and is hosted at
sourceforge.net <http://sourceforge.net/projects/ookala-mcf/>.
I look forward to interacting with you all.
