Hello Peter,
I have the impression that the "evolution" from Euroscale Coated v2 to
Fogra27 and Fogra39 has been accelerating, and that users are either
lagging or ost.
Do you feel that Fogra39 will be "stable" for a while? (What do you also
think about that, Klaus?)
Yes, I think it will persist for a while as many sheetfed printers were
closer to Fogra39 than to Fogra27 even before Fogra39 has been released
(this was one of the main reasons for the new characterization data and
the ISO 12647-2 amendment).
I am surprised that SWOP v2 is used in a way that I would describe as
"When in doubt, use SWOP v2" also in Europe.
I think the reasons is mostly carelessness or cluelessness.
I remember the complaint of a client who sent us a PDF/X3 file with SWOP
Output Intent about the "dull" SWOP proof he got ;-)
