A friend called me today for advice on a rich black to use on a
forthcoming ad campaign.
During the conversation he mentioned "Photoshop Black" and I asked
what he meant by that. He pointed me to a web page that he'd seen:
<http://www.printernational.org/rich-black-plain-black.php>
Where I am reliably informed that 63C 52M 51Y 100K is the most popular
choice for rich black in my industry... because of Adobe Photoshop!
At the bottom of the page this colour split is described as "The 'old'
adobe photoshop black". No mention of a 'new' version, presumably
because Adobe changed the defaults after version 5 and today's Adobe
Photoshop Black is probably a much less useful 75C 68M 67Y 90K...
