This works a treat.
tell app "Image Events" to set loc to location of display profile of
display 1
return url of loc
the url handles different disks of the same name correctly (never use
absolute paths)
So barely 5 mins later I have a 10.6 (and 10.4.? and 10.5) compatible
software again.
Although changing this was a pain it in no way detracts from the
complete nightmare doing this on windows. XP and Vista handle monitor
profiles in a different way, and you have to cycle through all the
adaptors (even ones that don't exist) troll into several parts of the
registry. Monitor numbering is all screwy, profiles are not always se,
connecting and removing a monitor is not handles very well. It was a
complete pain to introduce.
