Maybe you could detail how one can put the 9600 printer
Gutenprint/Cups in non-corrected mode and adjust the densities, and
where the settings get saved, then someone with color competence
(me?) can establish ink limits, we can all make some profiles, and
then I can freeze a version of the driver that can be distributed
as a solution to all concerned?
Everything is stored in the PPD files in the *Default... lines. The
*StpDefault... lines specify the Gutenprint defaults, to enable tools
to reset the PPD files to all of their original settings.
The settings you need to adjust are:
* Color Correction, in Output Control Common, should be set to
Uncorrected (Edmund, we may want to discuss this, but I think that
for general purposes this should be best).
* The Density control adjusts the overall (master) density. This
value is relative to the pre-set density values. Density Fine
Adjustment allows a more precise adjustment in units of 0.005.
* The Cyan Density, Magenta Density, Yellow Density, and Black Density
values adjust the density of the respective ink relative to the
master density control. There are similar fine adjustment values
for these, too.
I generally suggest not setting the per-channel density controls to
anything greater than 1; increase the master density instead. At
low resolutions, though, you may need to increase the per-channel
density values.
