Gariba,
First, when I tried Spectraview2 on an HP LP2475w a couple of months ago, if
I remember correctly, the HP monitor was not recognized by Spectraview2?
This was on MacOSX. I tried a few times, after restarting the system, but I
eventually gave up. Maybe some other factors kept the software from
recognizing the display in my case, but that was my experience.
Second, assuming that Spectraview2 does work with other displays, after all,
it may or may not be such a good idea. The NEC branded i1 (i1displayII)
incorporates coefficients burned in ROM for the large gamut NEC displays
that may or may not not be used when profiling other displays?
I'm only speculating since I don't know the software all that much. It would
be worth asking NEC tech support directly before making the purchase.
Atenciosamente / Roger
