Hi ColorSync folks,
I have been seeking help to get my Epson 9600 wide-format printer to work with Snow Leopard, and part one of the solution was to be able to install the Epson printer drivers for that printer successfully on my Mac Pro with Snow Leopard.
I wrote about my problems in my blog on Graphic Arts Monthly, and a fellow in Rochester sent me the following installer package.
He was able to download the 9880 driver package, then replace its contents with the original installers for the 9600, and then he installed the "9880" and it worked!
So, I present to all of you who might be having similar problems: the Epson 9880 (but really 9600) driver installer package.
USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I ran it, and it worked fine. Now my Mac can operate the 9600 with IP protocols, which was a major step in solving the problem.
Yesterday I updated to the newest Snow Leopard which John Gnaegy from Apple assures us has been fixed relative to the darkness issue.
I have not yet tried to print with the 9600 and the newly-updated Snow Leopard, but I am about to do it.
Best wishes to all,
Brian P. Lawler
