Exactly. Or MAY want a match, depending on how savvy they are.
Never take for granted the client's knowledge of what it takes to produce
digital images, or the fact that we as producers of images may be painting
ourselves into a corner by making the wrong move.
And conversely, if they happen to hate the way the JPEG looks, they may not
be informed enough to know that the image could conceivably be made to look
far better, to the point that they will possibly reject an otherwise good
image.
Know your clients and what you can and cannot do with them, before you send
them poorly- or incompletely-processed images.
