I think the current CMS workflow can live up to expectation only for photographers or
artists who print for themselves. Because the CMS we know requires ‘both sides’ (designers vs service providers) to be
knowledgeable about it to work. This discourages the urge to learn. Why invest time
and energy to learn it while the other side can ruin it everyday, very easily?

There is a saying that functioning standards are designed by
engineers, while standards designed by committees are just ... paper.
And I am afraid that this saying is exactly what is happening with
color management.
