Let's be clear here: there are two commands to put the display to sleep:
1) System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen Saver;
2) System Preferences > Energy Saver > Sleep.
So, do I understand this to mean that the SCREEN SAVER triggers the display
profile misbehavior, but that the display profile is not "dropped" when the
screen saver is set to "Never" and the Energy Saver's "sleep" options are
used instead?
In other words: exactly which combination of sleep/screen saver options
causes the display profile to be dropped"?
It may all just be a matter of selecting an appropriate combination of
settings. If all it takes to make the problem go away is to set the Screen
Saver to "Never", then why not just do that?
I don't use two displays on my own system, so other forum participants may
wish to test that hypothesis and report back with the results.
