Got nothing to do with the bulb and everything with how you mount and aim the bulbs. Getting very, very even output with Solux is quite possible if you do it right, using something like the Altman Micro Ellipse ellipsoidal spotlights that accept MR16 bulbs. Not cheap but they work.
