Hi Klaus,
Max's ICC <-> XML converters are designed to provide for the best of both worlds.
Personally I would have liked to see an XML like binary file format standard,
a sort of "super tagged" format that learns the lessons from things like TIFF,
GIF, ICC etc., and that people could create new binary file formats in, and
be able to use standard parsers, and not have to re-invent the wheel
(and all the bugs) over and over again. Unfortunately such ideas have been
shouted down by the XML purists, who think that there would be nothing
worthwhile left if the purported human readability was not present.
Graeme.
