I have used device links as well with stochastic and would agree with you. My reason for asking about issues is that I have a customer that has experienced paper absorbency issues which visually is creating print quality variances (modeling etc.). I know that stochastic is more sensitive to paper surfaces and was wanting to know if anyone has a QA check for paper to prevent this. They have great QA on the print (G7) and prepress side (its almost too much) but they want to know if there is an absorbency test that they can do for each lot of paper.
Correct me if Im wrong but I think that most absorbency issues happen within a lot. Can anyone confirm this.

With stochastic you get a lot of "extra" color gamut through the 1/4 and midtones making it impossible to match a proof made using the GRACoL/SWOP characterization data set.
