When then would one load Pantone colors or patches from images?
> To do this, you would need to create a .cxf file and bring it in to the optimization workflow using the “import spot color” method. I did this and it worked awesome. I have spot-file of 2500 grays (5x5 grid at every L* level), that i have used with excellent results.
Ah, so that seems to sync up with my take that importing an image and getting at most, 30 colors isn’t a compelling (useful?) feature in this module. So I want to improve gray balance like Bill Atkinson did years ago for his Epson profiles. I’d need to do something similar to what you describe, building my own import of said 2500 grays (I assume run through the profile). I sure wish this was a feature in the software as designed.
I suspect I could maybe use ColorThink, run these gray patches through the profile, build a color list but then how to import into i1P? It will only accept cfx?
