Fair enough...
One idea... Does the exporting function actually change the RGB values or does it just tag the file with a new profile?
How about removing LR from the equation and do it in Photoshop:
- open the file in Photoshop - confirm that the embedded profile is correct by liking what you see on screen.
- choose Edit->convert to profile
- select your display profile and convert
- save image out to a new file
- try that file in the screen saver.
