That's not how I read the OP. It seems to be the problem I face all the time.
I work for organisations, publishers for example, where the OS is a"managed build". Without admin privileges, no extra software, fonts etc can be added to the machine. Consequently, monitor profiles, using EyeOne Match, are loaded into the user colorsync folder.
This is fine when there is only one user on the machine but when you have multiple users, when they log in the profile gets replaced with an apple default profile.
Quite often these organisations use freelancers, and those freelancers might use any available machine. So ensuring that these guys have a calibrated display is a real pain.

Remote users won't see modifications to the LUT of the server display (the thing that changes the apparent white point). At least that's true if you're using Screen Sharing that's built into Mac OS X. I'd think it's more important to calibrate the display of the remote machine, the one the students are logging on from (the one physically in front of them).

Step through the built in calibrator in Expert mode and at each step, set the control button of the rightmost square in the far top left corner. On the server machine this will result in a very blue hue, which you don't see on the client machine. _______________________________________________
