Re: Profile Editor

I had time this evening to work on the profiles. I did get Profile Editor to work on Mac OS 10.6.7. Color Indicator Patches, under Gradations, are all black, but I have an old screen shot that shows the correct colors.

I edited the canvas again and warmed that up by adding some yellow at the quarter tones, and held that off some at the 3/4 quarter tones, did the same thing with the matt paper used for proofing. The test prints all look really good now. Skin tones are much closer on all papers now, a really good match. I left the natural paper alone as it needed no edit, it also has the smallest gamut of the 3 medias.

I think my friend will be happy when he returns and begins printing again. After all, good color is not always "correct color" its color someone will pay for, right?

Are there other ways to achieve a match when the paper whites go from pretty much neutral to warm? In this case its the skin tones that really matter, and holding detail in the shadows.

The 3 paper whites are as follows;

Matt  L96.2  a-0.6  b-0.2
Canvas  L97.8  a-.06  b1.1
Natural Rag  L96.4  a0  b4

Thank you everyone,
David
