Point taken and could well happen. I had in mind mainly that output quality between a 3880 and a 4900 is so close that those who don't need roll-holding may find a 3880 suits their purposes very conveniently and cost-effectively.

When you've worked with newer technology it's easy to look at an older printer like the 3880 and see how it could be better, and even replaced soon.
