Tried Silverfast in "48 bit HDR Color" mode. However the histogram icon is grayed out and not available for view. So I scanning a section of the paper with in "48 bit HDR Color" (silverfastAi 6.2 ). The scan shows clipping in all three channels in the brighter parts of the paper texture of the paper texture.
Note: SilverfastAi 6.2 in "48 bit HDR Color" and EpsonScan in "no color adjustment" are giving the what appears to me to be identical results as far as clipped highlights are concerned.

Thanks for the suggestion. in "48 bit color" with silverfast, the INPUT histogram on which I get to move the white/black and midpoint sliders shows clipping in whites. The OUTPUT histogram in silverfast also shows clipping too.
Thanks for your help
