Similar idea (and presumably similar underlying process), with differences in
detail. As I understand it, ProfileMakerPro uses a print samples & visual
match approach to estimating illuminant UV content (very practical), while Argyll
uses a more instrumented approach (illumread).

Note that the i1pro2 M1 measurement is a simulation, based on a normal
measurement using an incandescent illuminant + a UV only measurement,
plus (presumably) a model of colorant on paper behavior. This is broadly
similar to Argyll's FWA compensation. In my experience compensation approach
like these get close (typically 1 DE or better), but for true, highly
accurate and traceable measurements, I suspect you need a more
sophisticated instrument that uses a true D50 measurement illuminant
(or something close to it).
