Comforting for any of us who actually print stuff that, should we no longer find ourselves able to “walk the walk”, it is still possible to earn enough to feed yourself just by "talking the talk”.
Anyhow, back to the subject…
If you check the PDFs in /spool/cups you can see what’s going on without wasting paper and time.
Both ACU and ColorSync (in chart mode) send null transforms to print. The spooled PDFs are tagged with the printer profile.
Preview will do the same but you have to be careful to check every menu option carefully to ensure that printer colour management is off.
Opening the files from the cups queue makes it a lot easier to spot errors though.
