Thanks for the more technical explanation, but that doesn't quite explain
the problem. It doesn't matter if Canon was performing some color processing
when ColorSync is ON, if the same processing is performed when ColorSync
is matching to the printer profile, since the target and profile will
account for that.
It would only be an explanation if the ICC profile was being handled by
the Canon print driver with "Hand off to printer" and was doing different
color processing after the profile, or if the Canon print driver
was somehow sensitive to the difference between ColorSync
"Prematch to printer profile" and "Print as color target".
