AudioCodec

Hi,

I'd like to program an Audio Codec. Searching my mail archives, there's exactly one. A brief mentioning by Bill (close to the words "A great third party opportunity" :) So, some questions.

- The headers AudioCodec.h says there is not yet a way to find and open AudioCodecs. Is that still true? Is there any way to use AudioCodecs, as of yet?

- Where do they go? Into /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components?

- Is there some commonness between AudioCodecs and AudioConverters?

BTW, I found and compiled the sample AudioCodec.

Thanks-
Heiko Panther
