Hi Angus,

In light of your questions about performance, it might be relevant for to you to know (if you don't already) that the December update to Project Builder can use multiple processors to compile multiple files simultaneously. I have no idea what the real-world performance gain is on this, but on my 2 processor machine both processors can get to around 100%, which never happened before.

Hi all,

Just a quick question... my TiBook 550 / 256, OS X 10.2, is proving to be
unacceptably slow building AU with ProjectBuilder, and feels very laggy in
general (compared to the same machine running Classic and building VST
plugins [yes, I know VST is simpler than AU], or the similar-specced Wintel
laptop it shares desk space with [which can build a much more complex
DirectX plug in half the time]).

Anyone working with a machine of this sort of spec? I'm wondering if an
extra 256M ram is going to make all the difference or whether I should
start saving up for a new Powerbook (or even a Dual G4 desktop) already :-(

Regards,
Angus.
